Commercial production has commenced on a new cellulose film manufacturing line at Innovia Films’ Wigton site in the UK.
The ˆ10m investment for this new machine was agreed two years ago and will replace two existing production lines which have been in operation since the late 1940s. The project, which was predominantly designed, built and project managed in-house, was completed on time and on budget.
Alexander van't Riet, global sales and marketing director, said: “The successful completion of this major project is testimony to Innovia Films’ ongoing commitment to cellulose film, a reflection of the dedication and skills of our highly experienced engineering team and a clear demonstration of our belief and desire to continue to bring further developments in cellulose technology to our customers.”
